From the outset, the client’s brief was to declare what it means to be “first and only” – define what world-class, internationally credible branded residence living means in Batam—a market ready for maturity but still lacking a true benchmark.
Who is Normal .
Normal . is a preferred branding agency of Marriott International in Asia Pacific and was tasked to develop the Brand Identity and Visual Identity for the proposed Marriott Residences Batam (MRB), Harbour Bay, Indonesia.
The proposed MRB, Harbour Bay will set a new benchmark for international-standard living within Indonesia’s emerging industrial and transportation hub. Envisioned as a world-class, urban-style development, the project integrates contemporary residential design, professional management, and the prestige of a global premium hospitality brand.
Positioned as the first internationally branded residential offering in Batam directly connected to a waterfront lifestyle destination, it brings together the credibility of Marriott’s global standards with the emotional allure of owning and living in less than an hour travel distance from Singapore.

Our Big Idea for the proposed MRB was to capture the essence of Harbour Bay that’s “Minutes To Singapore. Moments to Everything in Batam.”
We describe a new landmark that is plugged into two worlds: swift cross-border access to Singapore and immediate reach across Batam’s daily essentials—business, shopping, dining, healthcare, and the airport—all from a single waterfront district.
Above it all, the world-class landmark stands as the place where ownership is more than possession: it is prestige. Claim the landmark that rises above. The Most Connected Address.
Sales Gallery Experience Design
A Normal . Proprietary Framework
“OUTSIDE IN” is an experience principle that starts with the world around the residence— how you arrive, move, connect, and spend your days—then brings you inward to the building and finally the home as the natural conclusion. For MRB, it means the sales journey leads with real, world-class access and a fully functioning waterfront ecosystem (ferry terminal, hospitality, dining and retail) so buyers feel the “Most Connected Address” as lived proof before they ever discuss a unit.
Landmark Reveal Theatre
Landmark Reveal Theatre is the emotional and narrative turn: where “Outside becomes Inside” and the sales gallery experience move from “looks good” to “I trust this”—through real physical evidence, tactile quality and credible partners presentation.
